A minha opinião: De uma maneira geral gostei bastante desta antologia. Ainda que tenha gostado mais de umas novelas do que de outras, só houve uma que desisti de ler porque me estava a parecer demasiado ser ficção cristã e eu, sinceramente, já não consigo...

A minha opinião: All I Want For Christmas é um verdadeiro conto de Natal!

Rafe Donnelly odeia tudo o que tenha a ver com o Natal. Mas quando se vê forçado a ser o Pai Natal numa festa da caridade que patrocina acaba por conhecer Ali Sanders e o seu filho Gabriel. Gabriel recusa-se a dizer à mãe o que quer pelo Natal, afirmando que apenas fará o pedido ao Pai Natal. Contudo, ao contrário das outras crianças, ele não pede brinquedos, ele pede um emprego melhor para a mãe para que ela possa passar mais tempo com ele e estar menos cansada e sorrir mais. Ah, e um pai também era bom...

Rafe acaba por se interessar por eles e tenta ajudar passando algum tempo com Gabriel a fazerem actividades masculinas. Mas não é só Gabriel que o encanta e, por mais que tente negá-lo, também Ali o atrai imenso. Será este o Natal em que o desejo de todos (mesmo dos que não sabiam que o desejavam) se irá realizar?

Gostei bastante. Tem a dose certa de ternura e de magia do Natal e gostei particularmente dos elfos intrometidos...

A minha opinião: No meu caso não foi um regresso, pois foi a minha primeira visita a Bluestone, no Minnesota. Mas não me importava de lá voltar...

Willow Branson acabou de se mudar do Texas para Bluestone, com a filha, depois do divórcio. E está determinada a ser uma mulher independente e a tratar de tudo sozinha. Mas os Invernos no Minnesota são bastante mais rigorosos do que os do Texas...

Felizmente Bluestone é uma cidade pequena onde todos se ajudam, e a ajuda chega na pessoa de Chase Granzer, um faz-tudo que tem todo o prazer em se colocar à sua disposição para a auxiliar em todas as suas necessidades...

Gostei bastante de Bluestone Christmas. Adorei ver como, aos poucos, o Chase se foi insinuando na vida da Willow e da filha, mas dando-lhe sempre espaço. E como conseguiu que ela percebesse que deixar alguém entrar e admitir que, às vezes, precisamos de ajuda, não tem de ser uma fraqueza. Um bom conto para ler na época natalícia!

Ela ainda está a recuperar do trauma e ele já foi queimado várias vezes e a última coisa que procuram é uma nova relação, mas a atracção entre eles continua tão forte como antes...

Sinceramente, não fiquei fã... Percebo que a True fosse frágil, até como consequência do que lhe havia acontecido, mas quer dizer, é como se ela tivesse vítima escrito na testa... Não vou contar mais para não spoilar, mas digamos apenas que tudo quanto é demais, enjoa... E o Nick também não me convenceu por aí além...

A minha opinião: Addison Cavanaugh e Bane Bannister conhecem-se num avião a caminho de St Louis. A atracção entre ambos é imediata e intensa, mas quando descobrem que ela é a filha do novo treinador dele, a relação parece condenada à partida...

É que Addison não namora com jogadores de hóquei. E o pai dela/treinador dele mandou-o afastar-se de sarilhos e de mulheres. E nem imagina que o único sarilho em que Bane se quer envolver é com a filha dele... Mas quando se vêem forçados a conviver, cumprir as regras não é assim tão fácil...

Gostei bastante de Worth The Shot. Embora seja o segundo livro de uma série, lê-se bem isoladamente. Adorei a química entre os protagonistas e fiquei muito curiosa para conhecer os restantes irmãos Bannister...

A minha opinião: Quando o homem com quem Juliette anda a sair lhe diz que tem uma surpresa para ela, ela não estava propriamente à espera que fosse uma outra mulher e uma proposta de ménage à trois... Mas agora está no corredor do prédio dele num curtíssimo disfarce natalício e não pode sair assim... Por isso não tem outra hipótese senão bater à porta do seu amigo Brad, que felizmente vive no mesmo prédio, e pedir-lhe ajuda.

O Brad tem um fraquinho por ela desde que a conhece e quando a vê aparecer-lhe à porta naquela figura, a sua excitação é evidente e não é só no brilho dos seus olhos... E isso faz com que Juliette também fique excitada... Mas esse é um limite que, depois de ultrapassado, não tem volta. Estarão mesmo dispostos a arriscar a amizade que os une?

A minha opinião: Na sua primeira temporada Viola Marsh viu-se envolvida num escândalo que a desgraçou socialmente: ela entrou num roupeiro onde estavam dois amantes homens e toda a gente pensou que ela estava envolvida com eles. Inclusive a sua própria família... Por isso agora vive como uma reclusa e só lhe é permitido sair uma vez por ano, na véspera de Natal para assistir à tradição do wassailing (no qual se visitam os vizinhos e se levam presentes).

Há três anos que Viola espera debaixo de um velho carvalho, onde se encontra pendurada uma grinalda de azevinho, que um homem que não se importe com o seu passado escandaloso a beije. Este ano sente uma presença masculina a seu lado e não pode deixar de ter esperança... Mas qual não é o seu espanto quando sente ambas as faces a serem beijadas ao mesmo tempo!

Gostei bastante de The Kissing Bough. Nunca tinha lido uma história em que a relação fosse MMF, mas confesso que me agradou mesmo muito. Apesar de claramente apaixonados um pelo outro, ambos acabam por se apaixonar também por Viola e a relação entre os três é forte e funciona. E, sinceramente, acho que a autora acabou por demonstrar como é que muitas relações homossexuais na altura funcionavam. E adorei o facto de ela utilizar inglês antigo, o que conferiu maior autenticidade à história... É, sem dúvida, uma autora que quero voltar a ler!

A minha opinião: Marcus Ambrose acabou de se mudar para Washington onde irá trabalhar como repórter político, uma carreira na qual já conseguiu a reputação de Príncipe da Imprensa. Mas essa não é a sua única reputação. Tem também a fama de ser um mulherengo. E é por isso que, quando se interessa pela secretária do seu irmão mais velho, Derek, ele o avisa imediatamente de que ela está off limits para ele.

Renee Erikson já tem demasiadas coisas com que preocupar: uma mãe doente e um irmão que não está a saber lidar bem com a situação. A última coisa que precisa é que o seu trabalho, do qual precisa desesperadamente, seja posto em causa porque o mulherengo do irmão do patrão resolveu que ela seria a sua próxima conquista...

Mas, se o interesse de Marcus por Renee até pode ter começado assim, depressa se percebe que é maior e mais forte do que isso. Conseguirá ele provar-lhe (e ao irmão) que as suas intenções são genuínas?

Gostei bastante de Prince of the Press. A dinâmica entre os irmãos Marcus e Derek é divertida e ternurenta de acompanhar e o modo como são ambos tão protectores da Renee é amoroso. Foi interessante ver como, a pouco e pouco, ele conseguiu vencer as resistências dela, provando-lhe, ao mesmo tempo, que ela não era apenas mais uma conquista para ele.

É o primeiro livro de uma série e eu até já tenho o segundo, que é a história do Derek. Promete...

É um homem muito parecido com ele que afirma ser o verdadeiro duque. Na verdade, o seu noivo é um impostor que se faz passar pelo duque e que Stephen perseguiu até ali...

Apesar de não ter qualquer responsabilidade na matéria, Stephen oferece-se para casar com Eliza e dá-lhe um par de semanas para decidir o que quer fazer. Nesse tempo vão-se conhecendo e, aquilo que começou por ser apenas uma questão de honra para Stephen transforma-se em algo mais. E Eliza percebe que nunca amou realmente o impostor. Mas conseguirá ela voltar a confiar num homem?

A minha opinião: Enticing the Earl é um pequeno conto que a autora ofereceu aos subscritores da sua newsletter pelo Natal de 2015.

Foca-se na relação entre Julian e Alice, um casal que se encontra separado no início da história. Alice resolve regressar a Londres, sem o consentimento de Julian e tentar resolver as coisas entre eles. Se ao menos ela soubesse qual era o problema...

Julian apaixonou-se por Alice assim que a viu. Mas apaixonar-se não estava nos seus planos e, quando ele começou a ver a história a repetir-se, afastou-se sem qualquer explicação. Só que Alice está de volta e determinada a arranjar quem lhe trate das necessidades, se não Julian, então outro... Conseguirá ela seduzir o conde?

É um pequeno conto que se lê muito bem. E embora tudo se pudesse ter resolvido tão facilmente se ele apenas tivesse falado com ela, foi amoroso acompanhá-los na noite em que recomeçaram.

Só tenho um pequeno reparo: apesar da capa, não tem nada de natalício excepto passar-se em Dezembro...

A minha opinião: Allina Hemphill está de volta a Londres depois de anos a viver em Chicago. É véspera de Natal e ela vai passá-la com os pais no clube de que estes fazem parte. Aí encontram um casal amigo deles que tem um filho, Blane Douglas, também ele recentemente regressado de Nova Iorque. Torna-se óbvio que estão ambos a ser vítimas de uma conspiração para lhes fazer um arranjinho, algo que nenhum deles quer. Mas quando se conhecem é inegável que existe química entre eles. Poderá um beijo debaixo do azevinho ser o início de algo mais?

Para uma história tão pequena, até que está bem desenvolvida... Claro que teria gostado que fosse um pouquinho mais longa, mas a verdade é que se passa em dois momentos muito específicos, no Natal e no Ano Novo, por isso funciona.

Kiss Me at Midnight é o primeiro livro de uma série e eu já tenho o seguinte para ler.

A minha opinião: No anual Leilão de Solteiros do hospital onde Alanna Reeves trabalha, Blake Donovan troca-lhe as voltas quando oferece uma quantia bastante considerável por ela... Eles estão apaixonados um pelo outro desde adolescentes, mas nunca se proporcionou, e acabam por ter uma relação de amor-ódio que continua até hoje porque ela é a melhor amiga da irmã dele.

Blake decidiu que chegou finalmente a altura de tentar e nem quando ela lhe diz que tem planos para passar a época natalícia na Flórida ele desiste e vai com ela. Serão estas férias tempo suficiente para finalmente resolverem as coisas entre eles?

Gostei bastante de Yours For The Holidays. Embora esteja mais habituada a histórias de Natal passadas à lareira, foi uma agradável mudança de cenário ler sobre um Natal passado com calor e à piscina...

É o sétimo livro de uma série e eu até já tenho os primeiros, por isso vou, eventualmente, voltar a ela.

A minha opinião: Close to the Mistletoe foi a minha leitura de Natal favorita do ano passado. Tem um bocadinho de tudo. Para começar, tem romance e tensão sexual entre os protagonistas, Holly Murphy e Nick Fisher. Eles conhecem-se num bar, numa noite em que Holly aceitou ser a companhia de uma amiga recém divorciada que acaba por a abandonar... Felizmente Nick está lá para lhe fazer companhia, o que é duplamente afortunado, já que ele não só a salva de um embaraço, como também a beija debaixo do azevinho.

Ele acabou de se mudar para a cidade, para ajudar o irmão viúvo com a sobrinha. Que, coincidentemente, é aluna de Holly. É, assim, na escola que os dois se vão reencontrar e, quando Nick, que é carpinteiro, aceita ajudar na preparação do desfile de Natal, os dois acabam por passar bastante tempo juntos... Mas quando Holly se vê ameaçada por um perseguidor, conseguirá Nick mantê-la a salvo?

Gostei muito de acompanhar o desenvolvimento do romance entre o Nick e a Holly. E depois há todo o ambiente de cidade pequena que a autora capta tão bem! E os miúdos são adoráveis!

Este livro faz parte de uma série e já tenho o primeiro para ler.

A minha opinião: Mark McClendon é um agente do FBI que foi ferido numa operação que correu mal. Agora tem de decidir se quer continuar no FBI e resolve que o melhor local para pensar no assunto é na cabana isolada do avô. Mas o mau tempo faz com que se despiste no caminho para a cabana e acaba por ser salvo por Abby Langfords.

Enquanto ela cuida dele e ele experimenta o Natal numa cidade pequena, começa a perceber que talvez seja mesmo disso que precisa. De uma mudança e de Abby... Mas quando o seu passado o persegue e o ameaça, será demasiado tarde?

Temporada Temática Natal 2017

O plano era começá-la na semana passada, mas a constipação não me deixou*, por isso declaro a Temporada Temática Natal 2017 oficialmente aberta a partir de hoje. Provavelmente irá durar até aos Reis, mas poderá ser prolongada se eu estiver para aí virada.

Este ano, para além dos livros, vou incluir filmes de Natal (daqueles da FoxLife, muito lamechas e pouco credíveis...). Nos intervalos, planeio escrever as 30 opiniões que tenho em atraso...

Sei o que estão a pensar:

Provavelmente têm razão...

Mas não custa sonhar, pois não? E, se conseguir, posso sempre dizer que foi um Milagre de Natal...

*Eu fico completamente knock-out com uma simples constipação...
