A minha opinião: Em 2016 comecei esta série pelo último livro e fiquei com muita vontade de ler os anteriores. Naturalmente comecei por este Riskier Business, sem me aperceber que é a continuação de outro livro de outra série...

Obviamente que já o tenho, mas acho que vou terminar esta série antes de começar a outra e depois, provavelmente, releio este livro.
Bom, mas quanto à história em si. Acaba por se tratar de um "vamos ver o que é feito daqueles dois" e julgo que só quem já está emocionalmente investido neles poderá realmente tirar partido da história. O que não significa que não tenha gostado, porque gostei, mas a verdade é que, como já foram caracterizados noutro livro, senti que não fiquei realmente a conhecê-los...
O conflito centra-se no facto de Ruby Elliott, uma reformada vigarista de bilhar, agora numa relação com Troy Bennett, detective da polícia nova-iorquina, se ver na eminência de ter de dar um último golpe, um golpe que lhe poderá dar as respostas que tanto procura. Mas, para tal, terá de confiar no pai e se há algo que a vida lhe ensinou é que o seu pai não é confiável e tem sempre motivos escondidos. E terá de enganar Troy, o que lhe pode custar o amor da sua vida...
Apesar de, como já ter referido, não me ter conseguido investir nas personagens, as cenas entre os dois compensaram. É que a autora escreve dirty talkers como eu nunca li antes. E, OMD, como eu gosto deles! Fiquem com algumas amostras:
“Christ. How long has it been since I’ve gone down on you? Three days? Four? That’s a fucking sin.”
