A minha opinião: Eamon e Laurel andam na mesma faculdade e têm um gigantesco fraquinho um pelo outro. Mas ele conheceu-a quando andava com a companheira de quarto dela (que não parece ser capaz de perceber que ele já não está interessado) e Laurel agora não lhe dá uma hipótese por fidelidade feminina.

Mas quando Eamon finalmente a convence a jantar com ele, ataca com tudo, determinado em não desperdiçar a oportunidade. E quando ela eventualmente cede aos seus avanços, o sexo é escaldante... Também ajuda o facto dele ser um dirty talker irlandês...

A minha opinião: Chegou a vez de Poppy Hathaway ter o seu final feliz. E quando a história começa, toda a família Hathaway se encontra hospedada no Hotel Rutledge, em Londres, por forma a ser mais conveniente participar na Temporada, já que Poppy e Beatrix se encontram no mercado matrimonial.

Mas Poppy já tem um pretendente, ainda que secreto, Michael Bayning, e está apaixonada por ele. Ele é tudo o que ela pretende num marido e poderá dar-lhe a vida calma com que ela sonha. Não que ela não adore a família, que adora, mas sonha com uma existência sossegada e “normal”.

Só que Michael não se declara porque tem medo da reacção do pai quando souber que está a cortejar uma Hathaway. E é isso mesmo que ele lhe diz na carta que Dodger, o furão de Beatrix, abocanhou e com a qual fugiu pelos corredores do hotel.

Ao perseguir Dodger para recuperar a carta, Poppy acaba por entrar numa zona do hotel não autorizada a hóspedes e é aí que primeiro encontra o dono do mesmo, Harry Rutledge. Harry fica encantado com Poppy, mas fica também a saber, através da carta, que ela está encantada com Michael… Não que isso o impeça de ir atrás daquilo que quer…

E é assim que, num baile, acabam por ser encontrados na varanda a beijar-se, o que compromete Poppy, que acaba por aceitar casar com Harry.

Sim, é verdade que Harry manipulou os eventos (informando o pai de Michael das intenções dele em relação a Poppy, o que fez com que Michael lhe dissesse que não poderia casar-se com ela) e seduziu Poppy, mas nunca o considerei um vilão (embora ele próprio se considere como tal). As suas acções só aceleraram o desfecho inevitável, já que o pai de Michael nunca aceitaria a relação dele com Poppy e Michael nunca iria contra os desejos do pai. E Poppy não foi forçada a beijar Harry, fê-lo porque, apesar de amar Michael, Harry mexe com ela…

Temos, assim, um casamento quase no início do livro. E Poppy está determinada em fazê-lo resultar, mesmo que toda a família, que não gosta de Harry (excepto Beatrix), a coloque à vontade para regressar a casa.

Contudo, Harry não é uma pessoa fácil de amar, principalmente porque se trata de um conceito estranho para ele e porque acha impossível alguém amá-lo. E ficamos a saber o porquê num dos capítulos…

A verdade é que, mesmo sem se aperceber, ele mostra o seu afecto pelo pessoal do hotel, que o adora. E que, numa cena particularmente engraçada, congemina para o aproximar da mulher…

Mas será necessário temer perder Poppy para que Harry finalmente aceite e declare o que sente por ela.

Foi muito bom, não só assistir ao desabrochar do amor entre Harry e Poppy, mas também ter vários vislumbres dos restantes Hathaway. E assistir ao início de algo entre Leo e Ms. Marks, a dama de companhia de Poppy e Beatrix. Afinal, quem desdenha quer comprar e como eles se desdenham…

Há também uma revelação importante em relação a Ms. Marks e o livro termina num cliffhanger em relação ao próximo.

Gostei mesmo muito e cada vez gosto mais desta família.
