- Mencionar o autor e o título do livro no post

ResponderEliminar"She would have been, in the first place, dark like Lady Bexborough, with a skin of crumpled leather and beautiful eyes. She would have been, like Lady Bexborough, slow and stately; rather large; interested in politics like a man; with a country house; very dignified, very sincere. Instead of which she had a narrow pea-stick figure; a ridiculous little face, beaked like a bird's."
crumpled leather or suede skin with beautiful eyes, i had to laugh at the ridiculous little face that i thought was saying ridiculous face like a birds beak. lol. thanks so much for stopping by. i like your blog backdrop.

ResponderEliminarI've never read Virginia Woolf, but this snippet makes me want to. It reminds me that there is often much sadness in the void between what we would look like and what we do look like.
Great choice for this week. I confess I've never read anything of VW's but I do like this excerpt so maybe it's time I did.
